Dan Crook Leads the Spins to Victory

Spindles 3 - 1 Rascals

10' - Dan Crook

70' - John Locicero (Zeidane Adjei)

74' - Ryan Breen (P)

Spindles United looked to continue their progress from Matchweek 1 as they lined up to take on the 2022 CDSL runner-ups, the Rascals.

Tuesday night football was in full swing against a competitive Rascals side.

The Spins started out strong with a goal in the first 10 minutes scored by English Center Back Dan Crook.

However, the squad struggled the rest of the first half. Unable to maintain possession, this ended up with a costly goal to bring the game level at 1-1 before halftime.

After a quick break, the Spins entered the second-half as a completely different team. A great through ball played in by Zeidane Adjei to John Locicero exposed the Rascal's defense to give the Spindles a 2-1 lead. Locicero's second of the season.

The game was gritty all the night. This showed when Ryan Breen was taken down by the Rascal's keeper in a 1 v 1, resulting in a penalty. Breen converted making it a 3-1 final score on the night.

The Man of the Match was awarded to Crook who had a first-half goal and led the defense to an excellent performance.

The Spins are back in action next Tuesday night against the 2022 CDSL Champions, Vassi Realty.
