Spindles 1 - 0 Highlanders

Spindles United resumed the season against Highlanders FC on Tuesday night after their first loss the week before and a brief hiatus due to New York State air quality concerns.
The Spins came out slow and fought off Highlanders chances for most of the first half. Luckily for them, goalkeeper Josh Marer continued to stay strong in between the sticks.
After a couple chances and domination from the opposition, the first half ended level at 0-0.
The second half saw Spindles dominate much more of the midfield. It was clear they were going to capitalize soon.
And that, they did.
A Highlander foul 25 yards from the goal resulted in a freekick that Captain Jad Essoulaimani calmly placed in the top right cobwebs. Scoring his second goal of the season.
The defense and Man of the Match winner Josh Marer held it down for their first clean sheet of the season. A final score of 1-0 sees Spindles holding their second-place spot in the league going into Matchweek 7 against Rascals next week.
