The Spins Take a Point From Rascals

Spindles 1 - 1 Rascals

75' - Nate Powell

A sunny night at Nott Road saw the Spins take home one point after a 1-1 draw with last-place Rascals.

The first half was back and forth with each side having a handful of chances. Spindles goalkeeper Papa Ndiaye came up big several times to keep the score level at 0-0 at the break.

A typical Spindles first half meant things were gearing up for a dramatic second half.

After a motivating halftime group discussion, things turned upside down 5 minutes into the second half with a Rascals opening goal.

Heads went down and looked defeated, for a moment. The rest of the half the Spins reacted with fire, creating more chances.

Eventually, a throw-in settled and driven to the goal by striker Moulay Ahmen Aladlouni was cleaned up for a rebound tap-in by Nate Powell. His second of the season to bring the match level at 1.

Ndiaye stepped up again to make 2 crucial saves in the second half.

Several chances for both sides ultimately lead to nothing more but a shared point.

The Spindles United Man of the Match was awarded to attacker Reggie Esconde for his tireless effort on the pitch.

Spindles have a quick turnaround with 2 more matches in the next 6 days.
