The Winter Showcase Recap

Spindles United kicked off Year 4 with the 2025 Winter Showcase at Afrim’s Sports Malta.

The clubs first indoor-based event, this was the 3rd official showcase since our founding year inn 2022.

The event saw almost 30 players show out and participate, with a mixture of guys from previous seasons along with some brand new faces looking to join the club in 2025.

Spindles operates on a clean-slate roster system every season, so events like these are crucial for figuring out which players are serious about returning next season, and who make a great new addition.

Despite the snow, it was a great turnout for 2 hours of high energy, small-sided ball.

The evening started out with a quick warm up, then straight into 45 minutes of 3-minute, fast-paced games with constant rotations amongst the 4 teams.

By 4pm, the players took a short break for an informational session before heading back into 6v6 for another hour. This time in 10-minute intervals for a slower pace.

The session closed out by 5pm with a short closing statement, photos, and awarding 2 Spindles Scarves to 2 randomly selected players. Congrats Lucas McCane and Joakim Holst!

Another successful event for Spindles as we hear up for an exciting 2025.

Roster selection is a crucial part of ensuring a successful year both on and off the field and events like these play a big role in those decisions.
